KLSD Staff COVID Protocol
The CDC and NY Department of Health have issued updated COVID guidelines for returning to work.
The CDC and NY Department of Health states that individuals who are sick with COVID-19 should stay home and away from others for at least 24 hours after:
1) Their symptoms are getting better overall; and
2) They have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
The guidance states that depending on the length of symptoms, this period could be shorter than the previous five-day quarantine guidance for COVID-19.
To help ensure the health and well-being of others, the CDC further stipulates the following if returning to work after the 24 hours:
Once people resume normal activities, they are encouraged to take additional prevention strategies for the next 5 days to curb disease spread, such as taking more steps for cleaner air, enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, keeping a distance from others, and/or getting tested for respiratory viruses. Enhanced precautions are especially important to protect those most at risk for severe illness, including those over 65 and people with weakened immune systems.
COVID Leave Days
The above guidance does not change your eligibility to use your COVID Leave Days, which means that to be eligible, a PCR test is still needed.
Please reach out to Human Resources Department should you have any questions and know that Neill will of course guide you through the process should you become COVID positive.
